RGAK GOT GOLD... (WITH NOTHING). haha.
although it was an award we deserved for our playing, somehow, some tears welled up in my eyes when i heard gold. i did not see anyone cry so i just held it back! i think it just seems natural for me to expect a high standard from RGAK. honestly, i was so afraid of getting a silver, i am glad my fears were unfounded.
during the syf performance, our tempo was wrong and angklung's tempo could not match that of kulintang's. the whole song was too messy. those were the general comments made. i smiled throughout the whole song. my whole mouth was twitching like crazy (god knows why!!!) and was practically trembling in my shoes. my hands were shaking and i was breaking out in cold sweat but i persevered and smiled because i knew it would be my last syf in rgs.
siglap's performance (in terms of dynamics) was awesome and they indeed deserve their honours. only 1 school was awarded honours this time. they had their way of playing which i shan't comment on yet feel so indignant about. their array of instruments can wow others. instruments from CO and BAND were brought in. their angklung numbers were 8 times that of ours. but RGAK knew we did our best. that was what mattered.
i really hope the next batch can get the honours for me, or at least for us. :)
OH THANKS lena for the wonderful make-up that everyone was praising me for. :D her make-up skills are superb. :) many commented i look different with make-up. haha.
oh i was reading through all the encouragement messages given by LAY as well as some seniors and i thought they were really motivational and inspirational. those messages touched me and i have once again affirmed my love for the cca. we know we played well to the best of our abilities today, and we can now hang our heads high. i <3 RGAK and being in this cca has really been enriching and emotionally fulfilling for me. the friends that i have made through this cca, the jokes we have shared, our enthusiasm we had shown. i will miss all of this when i move on to JC. trust me, i will come back after i graduate. :D
